Veena vs Logic Pro
Which is better, Veena or Logic Pro?
Veena vs Logic Pro goes to Veena for making the whole song on the machine you already have. Veena gives you a personal music producer, free in your browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, a Chromebook or your phone, who builds your song as real tracks. Logic Pro costs $199.99, or $12.99 a month in Apple Creator Studio, and needs "a Mac with Apple silicon" (Apple's Logic Pro page, November 2026). Logic suits a Mac owner who wants Apple's deep bundled library of instruments, loops and effects; for a producer who writes the whole song with you, on any machine, Veena.
Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser.
Apple's prices and requirements below come from its Logic Pro page as it read on 6 November 2026; its feature descriptions and App Store listing were read in September 2026.

The price of Logic Pro is a Mac first
Logic's software price is clear: "Logic Pro for Mac is available as a standalone app for $199.99", or Apple Creator Studio at "$12.99 per month or $129 per year" after a free trial (Apple's Logic Pro page, November 2026). The hardware comes first. Logic needs "macOS 15.6 or later" and "a Mac with Apple silicon", so Intel Macs are out too. The iPad version needs iPadOS 26 and an Apple A12 Bionic chip or later.
There is no Windows, Linux, Chromebook, Android or browser version. Logic projects stay on Apple devices, so a bandmate on a Windows laptop or a student on a school Chromebook is left out; our Logic Pro for Windows guide covers what PC users run instead.
Logic's newest features lean on Apple's chips. Apple describes "AI features that build on Apple Intelligence … including Session Players, ChromaGlow, Mastering Assistant, Stem Splitter, Chord ID, and more", and its App Store listing says Stem Splitter and ChromaGlow need an "Apple M1 chip or later" (September 2026).
What it costs you: an Apple silicon Mac before you spend anything on software, then $199.99 or $12.99 every month, and a project nobody off a Mac can open.
Session Players play a part. CoProducer produces the song.
Apple's "Session Players take your direction on the fly and lay down polished synth, bass, keyboard, and drum grooves." Each one plays its own instrument; the melody, the arrangement and the mix stay with you.
CoProducer works across the whole song. Here is what happens with the neo-soul prompt at the end of this page:
- The plan. 96 BPM, Eb major, and a section map with bar counts: intro 4, verse 8, chorus 8, verse 8, chorus 8, bridge 8, chorus 8 and a 4-bar outro, plus a task list you can watch it tick off.
- The parts. Drums, bass, Rhodes, the guitar counter-line and the strings arrive as separate tracks, each offered as three options. The bass waits for the Rhodes voicing you picked and reads its actual notes.
- The edits. "Keep the strings out of the first chorus." "Make the bridge half-time." Or open the piano roll and move the notes yourself. One undo reverses any CoProducer change.
- The mix. CoProducer sets levels, pan and effects, then runs a finishing pass that masters the song for streaming, the job Mastering Assistant does in Logic.

Logic is where many songwriters record themselves, and Veena records too: pick your mic, calibrate the latency, count in one or two bars, and loop-record until the take is right. In Veena's own data, about 1 in 4 first requests refer to the user's own audio, a recording, demo, loop or voice memo, and CoProducer builds the song around it. Hum a line and voice to instrument turns it into a synth pad, a saxophone or a string part.
What Logic users keep in Veena
- Stem Splitter → Separate into Stems. Right-click any audio clip and Veena splits it into vocals, drums, bass and other, on its servers, so any laptop can do it. Try it on any song with the free stem splitter.
- Chord ID → CoProducer reads your audio. Drop in a recording and CoProducer measures its tempo, key and chords before it writes a note.
- Your plug-ins. Veena Bridge hosts VST3 and Audio Unit plug-ins on a Mac and VST3 on Windows, so your Audio Units keep working (how Veena Bridge works).
- Collaboration across machines. Click Share and a bandmate on Windows or a Chromebook joins the same session with a named cursor, on the free plan. The machine that has a plug-in renders that part for everyone (real-time collaboration in Veena).
Export WAV 24-bit/48 kHz, MP3 320 kbps or MIDI, the full mix or every track as stems, as often as you like, with no watermark. Veena Pro is $20 a month and removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models.
Veena vs Logic Pro: who each is for
- Veena is for anyone who wants the whole song built with them, on any machine: a personal music producer who writes, arranges and mixes every part, stems, mastering, your own plug-ins and real-time collaboration, free on Windows, Mac, Linux, a Chromebook or your phone.
- Logic Pro suits someone who already owns an Apple silicon Mac and wants Apple's bundled library of instruments, loops and effects.
- If your band mixes Macs and PCs, Veena is the one studio everybody can open, and the Mac in the room still brings its Audio Units.
From Logic Pro to Veena in four steps
- Export on the Mac. In Logic, export every track as an audio file and your MIDI regions as a MIDI file. Bounce the full mix too, for reference.
- Open Veena anywhere. Sign in with Google in any modern browser and drag the files onto the timeline. Veena reads 13 audio formats and MIDI; each MIDI track lands on its own track with an instrument.
- Let CoProducer build on them. "Keep my vocal and Rhodes, rewrite the bass to walk more in the bridge, and add strings to the last chorus."
- Bring the band. Send your bandmates a Veena invite link, whatever computer they use.
Still weighing it up? Veena vs GarageBand covers Apple's free app, Logic Pro for Windows covers the PC side, and every other head-to-head, from Veena vs Pro Tools to Veena vs Ableton, is on every Veena comparison.
Which should you pick? Veena.
Logic Pro costs a Mac with Apple silicon, then $199.99 or $12.99 a month, and its players each cover one instrument. Veena is the free DAW that opens on the computer or phone you already have, with a personal music producer who builds the whole song with you, splits stems and masters the mix. Paste the neo-soul prompt below into CoProducer and hear your song take shape.
Try this in Veena
Make a 96 BPM neo-soul song in Eb major with room for my vocal: a laid-back swung kit with a cross-stick snare, a warm fingered bass, Rhodes playing rich ninth chords, a muted guitar counter-line and soft strings in the chorus. Intro 4 bars, verse 8, chorus 8, verse 8, chorus 8, bridge 8, chorus 8, outro 4.
Frequently asked questions
Is Veena better than Logic Pro?
For building a whole song with a producer, on any machine, yes. Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser. Logic Pro costs $199.99 and needs a Mac with Apple silicon (Apple, November 2026).
How much does Logic Pro cost?
Logic Pro for Mac is "available as a standalone app for $199.99", or inside Apple Creator Studio at "$12.99 per month or $129 per year" after a free trial (Apple's Logic Pro page, November 2026). Before either, you need a Mac with Apple silicon. Veena's whole studio is free in the browser; Veena Pro, $20 a month, removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models.
Can I use Logic Pro on Windows or a Chromebook?
No. Apple's Logic Pro page lists "macOS 15.6 or later" and "a Mac with Apple silicon", plus an iPad version (November 2026), and there is no Windows, Linux, Chromebook, Android or browser version. Veena runs in the browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, a Chromebook or your phone, with CoProducer building your song on the free plan.
How do Session Players compare with CoProducer?
Apple's Session Players "take your direction on the fly and lay down polished synth, bass, keyboard, and drum grooves" on a Mac. CoProducer takes a sentence and writes the drums, bass, chords, melody and anything else the song needs, arranges the sections and mixes the result, as MIDI parts you edit in a piano roll, each offered as 3 options.
Does Veena have a stem splitter like Logic Pro?
Yes, on every plan. Logic's Stem Splitter needs an Apple M1 chip or later (App Store listing, September 2026). Veena splits any track into vocals, drums, bass and other on its servers, lined up on new tracks next to the original, so any laptop can do it, and CoProducer can build new parts around the stems.
Can I move a Logic project into Veena?
Bring the parts across. In Logic, export every track as an audio file and your MIDI regions as a MIDI file, then drag them onto Veena's timeline in any browser. If a bandmate stays on a Mac, invite them into the same Veena project: the machine that has a plug-in renders that part and shares the audio with everyone.
