1. Veena: the AI DAW with a personal music producer

Veena starts where you do: with an idea in words. Type "a 100 BPM pop song in G major with a warm electric bass, strummed acoustic guitar and a big chorus" and CoProducer, your personal music producer, takes it from there.

It plans like a producer. Before a note lands, CoProducer writes a short plan: the goal, the tempo and key, which layers play, how long the song runs and where the sections fall. Then it builds the song layer by layer on a real timeline — drums, bass, chords, melody and whatever else the song calls for — each on its own track.

Its parts listen to each other. The order comes from the music, not a fixed recipe. Parts that stand alone are written at the same time; a bassline that has to lock to the kick waits, reads the kick's actual placed notes, and only then plays.

You stay the artist. Each new MIDI part arrives as 3 options, and you pick. Then you keep directing in plain words: "make the drums half-time", "swap the piano for a Rhodes", "add a bridge after the second chorus". One undo reverses any change CoProducer makes. When it finishes, it tells you exactly what landed on the timeline, and says so when an instrument you named wasn't available and what it used instead.

2. Suno Studio 2.0: a song generator's studio, sold separately

Suno's home page calls the product an "AI Music Generator". The studio is the add-on, which Suno describes as "our powerful browser-based DAW" (Suno's Studio page, September 2026). What it costs a producer:

• $30 a month. "Studio is included in the Premier subscription tier" (Suno's help centre, September 2026): $30 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly. Neither Free nor the $10 Pro plan gets the studio.
• None of your plug-ins. "Suno Studio is not compatible with VST or Audio Units plugins." In June 2025, Suno's own blog announced it had bought WavTool, which it called "the first browser-based DAW" to offer pro features starting with "VST plugin support". The studio it sells today can't load yours.
• No phones. Suno Studio is for "a desktop/laptop/tablet", and Suno's help centre says plainly: "mobile devices are not supported".
• Capped downloads outside the studio. Since 3 September 2026: up to 7 lifetime trial downloads on Free (for accounts opened before that date), 20 a month on Pro and 60 on Premier, including songs made before the change (Suno's blog, 10 August 2026). Studio exports on Premier aren't capped. And you "may not commercially exploit Output that has not been downloaded" (Suno's Terms of Service, effective 3 September 2026).
• Timing you have to check. Suno's help centre lists a known issue where "new generations fall slightly in front of or behind the beat."

Suno generates a finished song, caps downloads on its Free and Pro plans (7 lifetime, 20 a month) and charges $30 a month for its studio. 3. Moises Studio: a collaboration room that adds parts to your song

Moises calls itself "the essential toolkit for musicians to practice, perform, create and collaborate anywhere", and Moises Studio is its session room: "Real-Time Music Collaboration in Your Browser" (moises.ai, September 2026). Its AI "listens to what's already in your project, the key, the tempo, the feel, and generates parts that fit", from "over 55 genre presets across 5 instrument types". By its own description, that is a helper for a song you have already started.

• A price you can't see. "Log in to see our full pricing and features table." On iOS, the plans run from $5.99 to $29.99 a month (Apple App Store listing, September 2026).
• A free tier that counts uploads: "a limited number of uploads each month, with access to a select set of features."
• Plug-ins only in the desktop app. Moises lets you "load your own VST3 plug-ins in the Studio desktop app". In Veena, your VST3 and AU plug-ins load in the browser.

4. Mozart AI: a song generator with a studio mode

Mozart's page title is "Mozart AI - AI Song Generator & Music Maker", and its own FAQ opens: "Mozart AI is an AI song generator that lets you create full songs in seconds" (mozartai.com, September 2026). In its chat mode, Vibe Sessions, "our AI song generator creates the track"; for hands-on control, you "switch to Studio".

• Releasing needs a paid plan. "Personal use is included on the Free plan. Commercial use (distribution, monetization, sync, releasing your songs) requires a Creator subscription or higher." Its iOS App Store listing says the opposite: "All plans include full commercial rights." Two answers to the one question that decides whether you can put your song out.
• Two places for one song: a generator mode and a separate studio, rather than a producer working inside the studio with you.
• A rating it gave itself. Mozart's own page code declares a "5.0" rating from "1000" reviews, with no source for either number.

5. Soundverse: a generator first, with a studio tab

By its home-page title, Soundverse is an "AI Music, Video & Voice Generator"; the studio lives on its own page titled "Browser DAW", and its Agent One is billed as "Your Reasoning AI Music Producer" (soundverse.ai, September 2026).

• Prices you can't see. The pricing page lists Free, Creator, Pro and Enterprise tiers, with prices only after you sign in.
• A free plan you can't release from: "you can use Soundverse for Non Commercial usage. You can't monetise your creations."
• A release rule even on Pro: "Your final composition can't have 100% of Soundverse generated content." Asked "Can I distribute Soundverse generated content to Spotify, Apple Music as it is to make money?", its help centre answers "No." The Creator tier reaches Spotify and Apple Music "only as part of Podcasts (Not Music)".

6. RipX DAW: the "AI DAW" that takes audio apart

RipX puts the category's name in its own tagline: "RipX the first of its kind AI DAW" (hitnmix.com, September 2026). What its AI does is separation: "Split stems from any loop/sample using AI and edit the Layers note by note."

• $99, or $198 for RipX DAW PRO, after a 21-day trial (Hit'n'Mix store, September 2026).
• An install. A macOS or Windows computer with at least 8 GB of RAM and 20 GB of free disk space.
• No producer. It edits audio you already have; nothing on its pages describes building a song from your words.

7. LUNA 3.0: the "smartest" DAW, with its smart tools in a $199 tier

Universal Audio released LUNA 3.0 on 15 September 2026 as "the world's smartest, best-sounding DAW". Its "Smart Tools" are "chord extraction and lyric transcription, powered by Moises" (uaudio.com, September 2026).

• An install. LUNA is "for macOS and Windows": no browser version, no Linux, no Chromebook.
• The smart tools cost extra. Audio-to-MIDI, 6-track stem separation, lyric transcription and chord extraction are LUNA Studio features: $199, or $19.99 a month inside UAD Spark Studio (Universal Audio's LUNA 3.0 FAQ, September 2026). LUNA Free stops at 4-track stem separation.
• Tools that read a song, not a producer who writes one. Every smart tool it lists works on audio you have already recorded.

8. Muse: a MIDI editor that needs a second DAW

Muse's page title is "AI MIDI Generator & Editor | Muse", and it describes itself as "a multi-track MIDI editor with a deeply integrated AI agent" (muse.art, September 2026). It also says where it belongs: "Muse is designed to compliment your existing DAW workflow."

• A second DAW. It writes MIDI; by its own description, the recording, the audio and the mix live in the DAW it complements.
• Commercial export costs $15 a month. "Export for commercial use" is a Pro feature, at $15 a month or $12 billed yearly. Veena's free plan exports with no cap, and what you make is yours.

9. Delphos: a copilot for the DAW you already own

Delphos sells Delphos Copilot: "Like a coding agent, but for music. You describe the task, it does the work" (delphos.ai, September 2026). The work lands in other software: "Copilot plugs into your DAW and your files", and its own demo ends on a 7-note MIDI clip with the instruction "Drag the clip into Ableton."

• A DAW you already own, plus a download.
• Your own AI bill on the free plan. Free means "Bring-your-own LLM" and 100 monthly credits. The "Integrated LLM", the "Delphos Composer" and the soundworld library are on Pro, $50 a month; Enterprise is $500 a month.

Veena's producer comes built in: no model to bring, no second DAW to drag clips into, and a free plan that doesn't ask you to supply the AI.

10. Aiode: a studio in beta, now owned by BandLab

Aiode calls itself "The AI-powered digital music studio", and its pricing page adds "Currently in beta" (aiode.com, September 2026). Its models are audio-to-audio, built around real performances. On 15 July 2026 BandLab Technologies announced it had bought Aiode, and in the same release said: "Native audio recording and additional DAW functionality are planned for future versions of Aiode, with timing and further details to be announced."

• A DAW that isn't one yet, by its new owner's own account, with no native recording today.
• A free plan for trying, not releasing: "2 Mix or Region exports a month", "2 musician tracks", "1 Audio Track", and use "without a commercial license". Paid plans run $9.99 and $19.99 a month.
• An owner that paywalls AI. BandLab marks its own AutoMix, Voice Cleaner and Audio-to-MIDI tools "No" on its free plan, and its free studio stops at 16 tracks and 15 minutes a song (BandLab's pricing page and help centre, September 2026).

What about Logic Pro, Ableton Live and FL Studio?

Ask an assistant for the best AI DAW and it often names a classic DAW that has added AI features. Each one leaves the producer's job on your side of the desk:

• Logic Pro has Session Players, Mastering Assistant, Stem Splitter and Chord ID, but it "requires macOS 15.6 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon" and costs $199.99, or $12.99 a month through Apple Creator Studio. Apple's pages describe no song built from a sentence (Apple, September 2026).
• Ableton Live 12 keeps stem separation in Suite, at $749; the $99 Intro edition stops at 16 tracks (Ableton's shop, September 2026).
• FL Studio costs $99 to $449. The $99 Fruity Edition comes with "no audio recording, no stem separation", and full AI mastering sits in a separate FL Cloud subscription (Image-Line, September 2026).
