Founded in Los Angeles in May 2025, Veena is already home to more than 20,000 musicians, who have spent more than 100,000 minutes in the studio and made over half a million edits to their songs.

Music software made you choose

For decades, making a record meant learning a DAW. The software is extraordinary, but it asks for years of patience before it gives anything back. First comes a wall of menus, then a blank timeline that stays silent until you already know how to produce.

Then AI learned to write songs. Type a sentence and a finished track comes back in seconds, sealed. You can't make the guitar dirtier, move the chorus or tighten the bass against the kick. You can keep it or roll the dice again, and neither is making music.

So musicians had to choose between control and speed. Veena ends that choice. It is a real studio with a producer inside it. You bring the idea and the taste, CoProducer does the heavy lifting, and every part of the song stays yours to change.

Nothing stands between an idea and a song

Veena runs in the browser on any computer, from a gaming PC to a school Chromebook, and on your phone. There is nothing to install and no graphics card to buy, and it is free to start.

Software should feel like an instrument

Most music software is built like a cockpit. Veena is built to feel like an instrument: calm, beautiful and familiar in the hand, so the first sound comes before the first menu.

How Veena works

1. Describe the song. Say what you hear, in plain words and in your own language. Hum a melody or beatbox a groove, or start from a voice memo, a rehearsal take or a demo, and CoProducer builds the band around it.
2. CoProducer builds it with you. It settles the key, the tempo and the sections, then writes drums, bass, chords and melody that listen to each other, the way a band does. Every part lands on the timeline as a real track.
3. You choose. Each new part arrives as three options. Keep the one you love, or ask for more like it.
4. Shape it in words or by hand. Ask for half-time drums in the bridge or a Rhodes instead of the piano, or open the piano roll and move the notes yourself. CoProducer keeps working on the same song for as long as you do.
5. Finish it. CoProducer mixes and masters the song for streaming, free on every plan. Export the full mix or every track as stems, as often as you like.

A complete studio, with a producer inside

Under the producer is everything musicians expect from a DAW. A multitrack timeline holds audio, MIDI, drums, samples and video. You can record from a microphone or play parts in from a keyboard, write in the piano roll, program beats on the step sequencer and load your own sounds into a 16-pad sampler.

Dozens of instruments, drum kits and effects come built in, alongside a search across more than 27,000 curated samples and the VST3 and AU plug-ins you already own. Time-stretch, pitch shift, audio to MIDI and stem separation work on any audio clip, and the mixer gives every track its fader, pan, mute, solo and meter.

What no other DAW puts in one place is what sits on top of all that: a producer who builds with you, live collaboration with that producer in the session, a studio on your phone, and mixing and mastering that cost nothing.

Who makes music with Veena

Songwriters use Veena to hear a whole arrangement tonight and still own every part tomorrow. Singers and rappers bring a voice memo and get a band built around their phrasing. Producers get ideas down fast, with their own plug-ins in the browser. Beginners who once opened a DAW and closed it find the producer ready before the first menu. Bands build one song together from different cities, and students make music on the Chromebooks and phones they already have.

Why it's called Veena

Veena is named after the veena, one of the oldest string instruments in the world and still played in India today. We wanted a name with that much music behind it, and one that anyone, anywhere, can say. When we say Veena, we mean the studio. The instrument is where the name began.
