Use your VST and AU plugins with Veena Bridge
VST and AU plugins in Veena run through Veena Bridge on your computer, with effects in track or master FX and instruments in the MIDI clip’s Instrument picker.

VST and AU plugins in Veena, step by step
- Choose an effect or instrument door. For an effect, open a track’s FX or Master FX and press VST. For an instrument, select a MIDI clip, open Instrument and press its instrument card to see detected VSTi choices.
- Download Veena Bridge when prompted. The setup panel offers Download and Launch. Install the helper on your Mac or Windows computer, then press Launch.
- Allow local network access. Your browser asks permission to reach the helper on your computer. Allow it so the studio can read and run your installed plug-ins.
- Search and choose the plug-in. The picker has search in its heading. Select a supported instrument or effect, then use Open plugin window for its native controls.
- Choose the sound or preset you want. Settings selected in the plug-in’s window save with the Veena project.
- For a custom installation path, press Add plugin folder. Press Add folder and choose the directory in your computer’s folder window. The folder reads Scanning while its plug-ins are checked; detected entries arrive in the picker.
- Use Update when it appears in the picker. The guide has Download, Install and Finish stages. Install the offered helper version and follow the finish instruction until the new Bridge answers.
Formats and device support
Mac computers use Audio Units and VST3; Windows uses VST3. Veena Bridge has a universal macOS build for Intel and Apple Silicon computers. The helper hosts the plug-ins on the machine where they are installed. On a phone, Chromebook or Linux system, use the studio’s built-in instruments and effects, or hear a collaborator’s rendered plug-in in a shared project.
Add a folder where you already keep plug-ins
Standard folders appear in their own list. Added folders show their count once scanning finishes, or Folder missing if the path is unavailable. Stop searching this folder removes a custom path from discovery. Use Update in the picker to install the current Veena Bridge helper.
Work with CoProducer
Ask it to choose from your installed instruments or effects, for example "put my synth plug-in on the lead and keep these notes." It reads the detected plug-ins and starts from a real preset. In collaboration, the machine that has a plug-in renders its sound for the shared song.

Veena Bridge runs quietly on the computer that owns the plug-in. The studio displays its detected instruments and effects, and Open plugin window opens the plug-in’s native editor. A saved project keeps the chosen plug-in settings, so reopen that project with Bridge running to continue with the same sound.
Troubleshooting Veena Bridge
- The setup panel stays open: open Veena Bridge on your computer, then press Launch in the studio.
- Your browser blocked the connection: allow Local network access for daw.veena.studio, then Launch again.
- An effect is missing: check its VST3 build, or Audio Unit build on Mac, and use Add plugin folder for a custom installation directory.
- A plug-in says Needs Intel bridge: install its maker’s Apple Silicon or Universal version when your Mac uses Apple Silicon.
- A plug-in says Probe timed out: use the offered Bridge update before scanning again.
- The update is installed but the picker still sees the old helper: finish the guide’s Finish stage and follow its restart instruction.
Ask for a plug-in by its musical job
Tell CoProducer which part and sound you want: "Use my installed synth for the chorus lead, keep its notes and choose a warm pluck." It can choose from the detected plug-ins and their real presets. Listen in the full arrangement, then use the native window for the final sound decision.
In a shared song, the computer that has the plug-in renders its audio for the collaborators. A Locked card identifies the owning machine while the rest of the project stays editable. The Veena Bridge troubleshooting guide explains the connection states in detail.
