How do I clean audio for TikTok music videos?
To clean audio for TikTok music videos, bring the clip into Veena, separate the sound from the picture, split it into stems, clean the voice, balance it against the music, master it, and export an MP4. The picture stays exactly as you filmed it; the sound becomes something you would put your name on. It is free, in your browser.
Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser.
A TikTok music video lives or dies in its first second. The hook has to land before the thumb moves, and it has to land on a phone speaker, often next to a professionally mastered track in the same feed. A raw phone recording arrives quiet, noisy and uneven, and the cleanest performance in the world loses that comparison. Cleaning the audio closes the gap without asking you to film it again.

Three habits of the format shape how you clean it:
- The hook starts at zero. There is no intro to settle into, so the first bar has to be as clear and as loud as the chorus.
- The clip loops. A video watched three times is heard three times, so a hiss or a harsh S that is tolerable once becomes the thing people hear most.
- Phone speakers decide the mix. Most of your listeners hear little below the low mids, so the vocal and the midrange of the instrument carry the song.
- Import the clip. Drag it onto the arrangement or press Upload. Veena reads MP4, M4V, MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI.
- Right-click the video and choose Separate Audio. The sound becomes an audio clip under the picture, ready to edit.
- Split it into stems. With playback stopped, right-click the audio clip and choose Separate into Stems. Four tracks appear, lined up with the original: vocals, drums, bass and other. Your voice is on one, and the instrument or the beat is on the others.
- Name the parts. Open Mix & Master from the left rail. On Parts, tag your voice as Lead vocal and the other stems by instrument. Raise the vocal's importance so the flow treats it as the focus.
- Clean the voice. Continue to Clean. Noise Removal lowers the background hiss and room tone; De-Esser softens sharp consonants that a looping clip repeats. Open the full FX rack to set each one by ear.
- Pick a character and a space. On Character, audition the options and keep the one that suits the song. On Mix, choose a Genre, then a Space: Dry or Ambience for a close, spoken-feel hook, Plate or Hall for a big ballad moment.
- Press AutoMix. Veena balances levels, pan and effects across the editable tracks and shows you which controls it changed.
- Master the project. Pause, open Master and press Master project. Match EQ and a Limiter land on the master bus, which brings the level up to sit next to finished music in the feed.
- Export the MP4. Avatar, Export, MP4. The file carries your picture and the new mix.
For every kind of raw video, the clean up audio in a video page has the full method, and the AI mastering page explains the mastering step.
Trim dead air at the start. Turn on Toggle Split Mode with C, click the audio where the first sung note begins, and listen. If the clip opens on a shuffle or a cough before the hook, that is the sound people hear first, so cut it and delete the piece. A breath before the first line is different: keep it, because it builds anticipation.
Then check the first bar against the chorus. If the hook feels softer than the rest, the Limiter is doing its job evenly and the performance itself is quieter there. Select the vocal clip and raise its clip volume a little for that phrase, or ask CoProducer to lift the first line.
Play the clip on loop in Veena by dragging across the ruler, then listen to the moment the end runs into the start. A reverb tail that cuts off, or a hiss that jumps when the loop restarts, reads as a mistake. A drier Space (Dry or Ambience) keeps the tail short, and Noise Removal keeps the floor even so the seam disappears.
Export, then play the MP4 on your phone's speaker at low volume. Every word should be clear and the instrument should sit under the voice, not beside it. If the low end of a beat disappears on the phone, ask CoProducer to brighten the bass or the kick so its upper harmonics carry on small speakers. If the voice feels harsh on earbuds, return to Clean and give the De-Esser a little more.
A voice-only TikTok can gain a lot from a quiet bed underneath. With your voice on its own stem, ask CoProducer for soft keys, a light beat or a bassline in your song's tempo and key. It writes real tracks you can edit, and they mix, master and export with the video. The backing track for a cover video guide shows the whole move, and the clean audio for Instagram Reels guide covers the same job for the other vertical feed.
Describe the clip in producer terms: genre, tempo, which part is the lead and where the song should feel big. CoProducer runs the same Mix & Master workflow you would run by hand, and every change stays editable.
"Clean up the audio in this TikTok: it's a 30-second R&B hook at about 75 BPM, my voice over a keys loop, filmed on my phone. Split it into stems, tag my voice as Lead vocal, add Noise Removal and De-Esser, keep the keys soft and wide behind me, use a Plate space, AutoMix for R&B, then master the project so the first bar hits on a phone speaker."
