Aiode's pitch is session players you can direct. The catch is everything around them. Takes are painted in, region by region, a real recording stays on the roadmap, and the finished stems are sent off "into your DAW of choice for further editing, mixing and mastering". Veena puts the band, the recording booth and the mixing desk in the same place, with a producer running the session.
What changed at Aiode in 2026
BandLab bought it. On 15 July 2026, BandLab Technologies announced it had acquired Aiode, "An AI-powered digital music studio where creators bring AI models made with musicians into the music they're already making." It said "Aiode will continue as a standalone product", and added: "Native audio recording and additional DAW functionality are planned for future versions of Aiode, with timing and further details to be announced." It is still a beta. Aiode's pricing FAQ opens with "Currently in beta, Aiode is an AI-powered digital music studio", and calls the free tier a way "to try out the models in our scaled-down DAW".
The news feed stopped in March. The newest post on Aiode's own news page is a product update dated 24 March 2026, four months before the acquisition and six months before this page (checked 23 September 2026).
The workflow is paint and generate. Aiode's March guide explains that in Generate Mode "your mouse will turn into a Brush tool allowing you to draw new takes regions", and you then "press the Generate Takes button". Its homepage sends the result onward: "Export high-quality 24-bit stereo files or drag & drop them directly into your DAW of choice for further editing, mixing and mastering."

- CoProducer plans the arrangement and decides the order from what each part must fit — there is no fixed "drums first". Independent parts are written at the same time; a part that must lock to another waits and reads that part's actual notes.
- Each player offers 3 options. Hover to hear one, press Enter to keep it. Ask for a bass locked to the kick and it is written only after you pick the drums, so it locks to the kick you chose.
- Direct the take: "more ghost notes on the snare", "the bass should sit an octave lower in the chorus", "make the guitar stabs shorter", "humanize the keys". Or open the piano roll and move the notes yourself.
The drummer plays one of 7 kits, from Brush and Jazz to TR909; the rest play from 61 presets, 39 of them on Veena's own synth, or from your own VST3 and AU plug-ins through the Veena Bridge helper app.
Then play it yourself
Aiode's owner says recording is coming. In Veena it is here: pick your microphone, calibrate latency, set a 1- or 2-bar count-in and see where the take will land before you press record. Loop recording keeps your last complete pass. Hum a line and CoProducer turns it into a saxophone, a synth or a string part; import a demo and CoProducer measures its tempo and phrasing and builds every new part to fit it.

BandLab
Aiode's new owner runs a "100% free Studio". Where it leaves you: inside limits. "You can create up to 16 tracks with a maximum duration of 15 minutes" on free, AutoMix, Voice Cleaner and Audio-to-MIDI are marked "No" on the free plan, and of SongStarter's AI ideas BandLab says "you won't own the rights to the generated track" (BandLab's pricing page and help centre, September 2026).
ACE Studio
A desktop studio whose models "Generate natural-sounding instrument performances with only MIDI". Where it leaves you: writing the MIDI yourself, and paying a year up front. Its pricing page offers Artist at $16.58 a month "Billed yearly" on a 20% promotion, or $398 to buy; its AI rendering and tools "require an internet connection" despite the install; and its generation credits "are only refreshed monthly while your membership is active" (acestudio.ai, September 2026).
Switching from Aiode to Veena
- Export what you want to keep. On Aiode Free you have 2 mix or region exports a month; on Basic and Pro you can export individual stems. Take WAV where your plan allows, or MP3.
