Use the synthesizer in Veena

Updated October 2026By Veena Studio

Use the synthesizer in Veena by choosing a Bass + 808s or Synth sound, then shaping its macro controls or opening the full instrument controls.

Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser.

Use the synthesizer in Veena, step by step

  1. Select a MIDI clip and open Instrument. Press its Instrument card to choose a sound. Bass + 808s and Synth include Veena’s built-in synthesizer presets.
  2. Choose a preset for the musical role. Start from a bass, lead, pluck or pad rather than an empty patch. Keep the MIDI phrase playing while you compare sounds.
  3. Turn a macro control. The preset exposes its useful shaping controls. Move one at a time, listen in the song, and keep the amount that serves the part.
  4. Open the full instrument view. Its sections are OSC 1, OSC 2, FILTER, ENVELOPES, LFO and OUTPUT. Scroll across a short panel or expand it for more room.
  5. Shape the envelope. Change how quickly the sound arrives and how it falls away. A short pluck and a slow pad can play the same chord notes with very different roles.
  6. Shape the filter and modulation. Choose a filter position that leaves room for the other instruments; use LFO movement when the phrase calls for motion.
  7. Balance the output and play the arrangement. The audition keyboard checks the patch alone, while playback checks it against the drums, bass and chords.

Start with the musical instruction

Ask CoProducer to "make this bass rounder with a short release" or "open the pad filter gently into the chorus." It can set the built-in synthesizer’s controls in the same project. Name the part and the result, rather than a parameter you do not yet know.

Keep sound design separate from note editing

Piano Roll changes the phrase; Instrument changes the sound playing it. If the rhythm is already right, keep it and shape the instrument. If the line needs space, shorten notes in the piano roll or ask CoProducer to make the melody less busy. On a track switched to a hosted instrument plug-in, open that plug-in’s own controls for its sound.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose and shape a synthesizer sound in Veena?

Select a MIDI clip in Veena, open Instrument and choose a synthesizer preset. The synth’s visible macro controls shape that patch while the piano roll keeps the part’s notes. Try the bass, lead, pluck and pad sounds in the arrangement, or ask CoProducer for a sound that fits the song’s musical role.

Can CoProducer change synthesizer controls in Veena?

Yes. CoProducer can set the controls of Veena’s built-in synthesizer. Describe the musical result, such as a softer attack, warmer bass or a brighter pad in the chorus. The instrument remains editable in the same project, so you can inspect its controls and make a smaller adjustment yourself afterwards.

Where are the full synthesizer controls in Veena?

Choose a built-in synth sound in the Instrument panel in Veena, then open its full view. The sections cover the oscillators, filter, envelopes, LFO and output, alongside the preset’s macro controls. Expand the panel when you want more space, or scroll across the cards while keeping your MIDI phrase unchanged.
