Veena Bridge and plugin troubleshooting
Veena Bridge troubleshooting starts with launching the helper, allowing your browser to reach it and checking that the plug-in is installed in a supported format and scanned folder.

Veena Bridge troubleshooting, step by step
- Open the plug-in door you need. Use VST in a track or master FX rack for effects, or the MIDI clip’s Instrument picker for instruments.
- Press Launch if Bridge is offline. Use Download to install the helper. On a Mac, open the disk image, put Veena Bridge in Applications and open it; on Windows, run its installer.
- Allow local network access. When the browser asks to reach apps on your computer, allow it. If you blocked the prompt earlier, open the site’s settings for daw.veena.studio and set Local network access to Allow, then return and press Launch.
- Use Update when offered. Follow Download, Install and Finish in the guide. Use the guide’s final connection step to reconnect the installed helper.
- Check the format. Veena Bridge hosts Audio Units and VST3 on Mac, and VST3 on Windows. Install the plug-in’s supported build when only a VST2 version is present.
- Check its installation folder. Press Add plugin folder, then Add folder to choose a custom path. The list shows Scanning until the check finishes, or Folder missing when the path is unavailable.
- Open the native plug-in window. Once it is detected, choose it and use Open plugin window to select its sound. A plug-in marked unavailable on this computer needs to be installed here or rendered by a collaborator who has it.
Labels and connection states
For Needs Intel bridge, install the maker’s Apple Silicon or Universal plug-in version on an Apple Silicon Mac. Veena Bridge’s universal Mac build runs on Intel and Apple Silicon computers.
For Probe timed out, use the offered Bridge update before repeating the scan. The update improves slow plug-in checks. If a plug-in says Could not open plugin or Plugin init failed, check that it runs in its own supported environment, then update or reinstall that plug-in and restart Bridge.
A shared session
In collaboration, the computer with the plug-in renders its sound for the song. A Locked card on another computer preserves that shared audio and identifies the machine owning the plug-in. The rest of the project stays editable while the owner makes that instrument available.

Install on Windows
If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, choose More info, then Run anyway to run the Veena Bridge installer. Return to Veena, open the picker and use Launch. The helper runs in the background; the windows you open while making music are the plug-ins’ own editors.
A missing plug-in or a busy local port
Bridge scans supported plug-in folders. Check for a VST3 build on Windows, or Audio Unit/VST3 on Mac, before adding a custom path. Add plugin folder then Add folder opens the computer’s folder chooser, so you can point at the directory where you already installed the plug-in.
After a plug-in update, close the old helper in Activity Monitor on Mac or Task Manager on Windows and press Launch again. Follow a restart instruction if the studio’s update guide asks for one.
For a busy local port, close the other program using port 8080, then launch Veena Bridge again. This affects the helper’s local connection; it does not require moving or exporting your Veena project.
