Custom plugin folders in Veena: what changed

Add plugin folder stays under the plug-in list, including when a search has no results. Its panel shows Standard and Added folders. Add folder opens your computer’s own folder window through Veena Bridge. Choose the directory and it appears with a Scanning state while the helper checks its contents.

Detected plug-ins reach the picker as the scan progresses, without a studio restart. Each folder shows its count when scanning ends, or Folder missing when its path is unavailable. A custom folder can be removed with Stop searching this folder; standard format folders remain in the list. The pickers also gained search in their headings and place crossed-out plug-ins after available choices.

Try it in your song

  1. Open the picker. Use VST for an effect or the Instrument picker for a MIDI instrument.
  2. Add a path. Press Add plugin folder, then Add folder, and select the installation directory in the native folder window.
  3. Wait for the scan. Watch Scanning and then choose a newly detected plug-in from the list.
  4. Manage an added folder. Use Stop searching this folder when you no longer want that custom path checked.

In your editable project

The folder list belongs to the helper on your computer, where the installed plug-ins run. Adding a folder exposes those plug-ins to the studio’s normal picker and CoProducer’s detected-instrument context. The current help covers adding plug-in folders and updating Veena Bridge from the picker.

Frequently asked questions

How do custom plug-in folders work in Veena?

Open a Veena instrument or effect picker and choose Add plugin folder, then Add folder. Veena Bridge opens your computer’s folder chooser and scans that path for supported plug-ins. The picker shows Scanning or Folder missing while checking the directory, and Stop searching this folder removes a custom path from discovery.

Can I add a nonstandard plug-in folder in Veena?

Yes. Open either plug-in picker in Veena and use Add plugin folder, then Add folder. Veena Bridge opens the computer’s folder window so you can choose the directory. It scans the folder and detected plug-ins arrive in the picker. The folder panel shows scanning progress, counts and missing paths.

How do I stop searching an added plug-in folder in Veena?

Use Stop searching this folder on the added folder in Veena’s folder panel. That custom path is removed from discovery, while the standard format folders remain. The helper owns this list on your computer. If the folder entry is absent on an older Bridge, use Update to reach the newer helper capability.
