Use the MPC sampler in Veena

Updated October 2026By Veena Studio

Use the MPC sampler in Veena to put your recordings on pads, play them as a MIDI part and keep the groove editable on the timeline.

Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser.

Use the MPC sampler in Veena, step by step

  1. Bring in your sound. Use Upload or drag your own recording onto the arrangement. If you want a particular phrase, trim or split the audio clip to that region first.
  2. Create or select a MIDI clip. Open Instrument, press the instrument card, then choose MPC. The sampler gives each pad a note the MIDI part can play.
  3. Load a pad. Drag a recording or an audio clip’s region onto an available pad. A clip region loads that region of its original recording, so you can make several pads from one take.
  4. Tap the pad to hear it. The same sample and region are used when a MIDI hit plays that pad on the timeline and when you export the song.
  5. Set the pad’s gain, pan and pitch. Balance the hits before building the pattern. Remove custom sample clears a pad when you want another sound there.
  6. Write or record its MIDI rhythm. Place hits in the clip’s editor or record the pad part, then play it with the other tracks.
  7. Ask CoProducer for a chop. "Chop my guitar take onto sampler pads and make an 8-bar groove" lets it choose regions, load the pads and write the part in the project.

One recording, several musical pieces

A pad can use a window into a longer recording. A short consonant, a guitar attack and a held tone from the same take can become different rhythmic voices. Give pads useful names so you can identify them when returning to the session.

The pad and the timeline agree

The loaded region, pitch, gain and pan define the pad’s sound. A pad hit rings from the sample rather than behaving like a held synthesizer note.

The sampler is part of the editable instrument setup. You can ask CoProducer for a new rhythm while keeping the pad sounds, or replace a pad while keeping the notes that trigger it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put my own recording on Veena’s MPC pads?

Open the MPC sampler in Veena and assign audio to its pads, then play or record a pattern using those sounds. Each pad’s sample and controls let you shape the attack and playback. Keep your recording in the same project so CoProducer can build drums, chords or bass around your own performance.

Can CoProducer load my recordings onto sampler pads in Veena?

Yes. CoProducer can choose regions from your recordings, assign them to the MPC sampler’s pads and write the triggering MIDI in Veena. Ask for the recording and the groove you want. The assigned pads remain in your project with their region, name, pitch, gain and pan ready to inspect or adjust.

Will a sampler pad sound the same on export in Veena?

Veena reads the loaded sample region, pitch, gain and pan for a pad tap, timeline playback and export. A pad hit plays that region as a one-shot. Use the pad’s pitch, gain and pan to shape the sound, then keep its triggering MIDI editable on the timeline.
