Veena vs ElevenLabs Music

Published By Veena Studio

Which is better, Veena or ElevenLabs Music?

In Veena vs ElevenLabs Music, Veena is the better choice for anyone who wants to make a song rather than order one. ElevenLabs Music renders audio from a prompt, bills it at "Eleven Music 900 credits per minute" from the same credit pool as its voice tools, and keeps its free and $6 Starter plans from releasing to Spotify or Apple Music (ElevenLabs' pricing page, September 2026). Veena builds your song as real tracks with a personal music producer, free to start, and you own every export.

Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser.

The ElevenLabs facts below come from its pricing page and music terms as they read on 23 September 2026, and from its music page as it read on 6 November 2026.

What ElevenLabs sells: a model, by the minute

ElevenLabs is a voice company, and its music product puts an interface in front of a generation model. You supply a description; the model supplies audio. Its own pages set the terms:

  • Music shares the voice meter. ElevenLabs prices music at "Eleven Music 900 credits per minute" from the same credit pool as everything else it sells: "using one leaves fewer for the others." A songwriter revising a chorus spends the budget a podcaster spends on narration.
  • Downloads and release are tiers. The free plan can't download music ("Not permitted"), Free and the $6 Starter plan are barred from releasing to Spotify and Apple Music, and release starts on the $22 plan (ElevenLabs' pricing page, September 2026).
  • Commercial rights vary by plan. Its music page says "Commercial rights vary by subscription tier", and on self-serve plans commercial use excludes "film, TV, and Studio Games" (ElevenLabs' music page, November 2026).
  • Its consumer app adds a rule of its own. In ElevenMusic, "Downloads are blocked on tracks that reference other artists' songs."

What it costs you: a rendered file with no session behind it, billed from your voiceover credits, with the right to release it on Spotify starting at the $22 plan.

A render vs a session

ElevenLabs lets you regenerate one section of a song, and every regeneration is still audio: the bassline, the chords and the drums arrive mixed into one performance. Five ordinary revisions show the difference:

  • "That third chord should be minor." In Veena: change one note. In a render: generate the section again and hope the rest survives.
  • "Take the shaker out of the second verse." In Veena: mute the part. In a render: separate the stems and dig it out of the drums.
  • "Push the whole thing to 84 BPM." In Veena: change the tempo. In a render: time-stretch and inherit the artifacts.
  • "Try it on a Rhodes instead of a piano." In Veena: swap the instrument; the notes stay. In a render: write the prompt again.
  • "Make the bass less busy." In Veena: delete half the notes, or ask CoProducer. In a render: a prompt with a thousand answers, and one of them at random.

The deeper version of this argument is in AI CoProducer vs AI generator.

How Veena builds a song with you

Here is the flow on Veena's free plan, with the R&B prompt at the bottom of this page:

  1. Open Veena in your browser and sign in with Google. Nothing to install and no graphics card needed: CoProducer runs on Veena's servers.
  2. Describe the song like a producer. "Make a 78 BPM R&B slow jam in A-flat major…" CoProducer sets the tempo and key, plans the sections with their bar lengths, and writes a task list you can watch it tick off.
  3. Pick your parts. For each new part, CoProducer offers three options. A part that has to fit another, like a sub bass under the electric piano chords, waits for the one you picked and reads its actual notes.
  4. Change anything in plain words. "Make the drums half-time in the bridge." "Add a guitar lick after every chorus line." Or open the piano roll and drag the notes yourself. One undo reverses any CoProducer change.
  5. Record your vocal and export. Sing over the track from your mic, then let CoProducer mix and master it. Export the mix or every track, as often as you like.

In Veena's own data, 3 in 4 new users (75.7%) whose first request asks for a new song get a finished first result on day one; when the request names a genre, 81.5% do.

CoProducer in Veena answering "Build me a Hip Hop beat": it writes a 4-bar bassline in A minor at 120 BPM with the drums as context and offers three options

The studio around the song

  • Your voice, any instrument. Hum a melody and CoProducer turns it into a saxophone, a synth or a piano part, through voice to instrument.
  • Your own recordings. Drop in a voice memo, a demo or an old bounce in any of 13 audio formats, and CoProducer measures the tempo and phrasing before it writes around it.
  • Stems. Split any track into vocals, drums, bass and other, lined up on your timeline, on every plan.
  • Your own plug-ins. The Veena Bridge helper app hosts VST3 and AU plug-ins on a Mac and VST3 on Windows, and CoProducer starts from their real presets. Setup is in using your plug-ins with Veena Bridge.
  • Instruments. 61 instrument presets, 39 of them on Veena's own synth, 7 drum kits, a 16-pad sampler and built-in effects.
  • Collaboration. Since 12 September 2026, invite a co-writer into your session and build the song together, live, with CoProducer in the room.

Who owns the song

Veena's terms say "you own the Output you generate through your use of the Service." That holds on the free plan, and there is no watermark on your exports: WAV 24-bit/48 kHz, MP3 320 kbps or MIDI, the mix or every track as stems in one zip. Every format is on the export formats page.

On ElevenLabs, release rights climb with the plan: none on Free or Starter, Spotify from $22 a month, and no film, TV or Studio Games use on any self-serve plan.

Veena vs ElevenLabs Music: who each is for

  • Veena is for anyone who wants to shape, edit and own the song: a personal music producer who builds it as real tracks, your own voice and plug-ins, stems and exports with no cap, on the free plan.
  • ElevenLabs Music suits someone who wants a one-prompt render with an AI singer and doesn't plan to change the parts.
  • If you release music, Veena's free plan already lets you own and export everything you make.

Leaving ElevenLabs Music for Veena

  1. Download what you want to keep while your ElevenLabs plan still allows it.
  2. Open Veena in your browser and sign in with Google. Nothing to install.
  3. Start the next song from one sentence. Describe it, and CoProducer builds it as real tracks you can keep reshaping.
  4. Bring your own material too. Record a vocal, or import a demo or a voice memo, and CoProducer builds new parts around it.
  5. Export as often as you like: the mix or every track, in WAV, MP3 or MIDI. Our ElevenLabs Music alternative guide ranks the rest of the field, and Veena vs Suno compares the other big generator.

The verdict: Veena

ElevenLabs Music renders a song from a prompt and bills it by the minute from your voice credits, with no timeline, no mixer, no plug-ins and no Spotify release below the $22 plan. Veena gives you the studio free: a personal music producer who builds your song as real tracks, your own voice and plug-ins, 4-stem separation and exports with no cap that you own. Paste the R&B prompt below into CoProducer and build your first song tonight.

Try this in Veena

Make a 78 BPM R&B slow jam in A-flat major: a soft laid-back kick and rimshot with finger snaps, a deep round sub bass, lush electric piano seventh chords, a warm string pad and a sparse guitar lick between phrases, with space for my own vocal. Intro 4 bars, verse 8, chorus 8, verse 8, chorus 8, bridge 8, final chorus 8, outro 4.

Frequently asked questions

Is Veena better than ElevenLabs Music?

Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser. ElevenLabs Music renders audio from a prompt, billed at 900 credits a minute from the same pool as its voice tools (ElevenLabs' pricing page, September 2026).

What is the difference between Veena and ElevenLabs Music?

ElevenLabs Music is a generation model with an interface: you describe a song and it renders audio. Veena is the studio with the producer inside: CoProducer writes drums, bass, chords and melody as editable MIDI on a timeline, arranges and mixes them, and you change any note by hand or in plain words, on the free plan.

Can I release ElevenLabs Music songs on Spotify?

Not on every plan. ElevenLabs' pricing page bars its free plan and its $6 Starter plan from releasing to Spotify and Apple Music, release starts on the $22 plan, and the free plan can't download music at all (September 2026). In Veena, you own the Output you generate on every plan, and exports carry no watermark.

Can I edit a song from ElevenLabs Music?

ElevenLabs lets you 'Select any section and regenerate just that part' (ElevenLabs' music page, November 2026), and the result is still rendered audio. In Veena every part is notes on a timeline: move one chord, thin a hi-hat pattern, swap a piano for a Rhodes or cut eight bars, without generating the song again.

Does Veena sing like ElevenLabs Music?

ElevenLabs Music generates sung vocals, and that is its strength. Veena is built around your own voice: record your vocal over the track CoProducer builds, or hum a melody and CoProducer turns it into a saxophone, a synth or a piano part. Your voice stays yours, on a track you can tune and mix.

Is Veena free?

Veena's free plan includes the whole studio: CoProducer on a daily allowance, the timeline, the piano roll, 4-stem separation, your own plug-ins and WAV, MP3 and MIDI exports with no cap. Veena Pro, at $20 a month, removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models. Editing a part by hand never costs a thing.
