Free Pitch Shifter Online

Published By Veena Studio

A pitch shifter moves a sound up or down without changing its length. Veena has one built in: Pitch Shift in a clip's Waveform tab, free in your browser, in semitones, with nothing to install. Drop in a song or a recording, turn it up or down, and hear it play against the rest of your project. CoProducer, Veena's personal music producer, can then rebuild the parts around the new key.

Most online pitch changers end at a single file: upload, shift, download. Veena is the whole studio, so the shifted song stays on a timeline where you can split it, mix it, add parts and export it.

Who the free pitch shifter is for

  • Singers who need a backing track a few semitones lower or higher to fit their range.
  • Instrumentalists and cover artists matching a song to a capo, a tuning or their own voice.
  • Producers moving a sample or a loop into the key of the song they are building.
  • Anyone on a Chromebook, a work laptop or a phone, where installing a plug-in and a DAW is not an option.

How to shift the pitch of a song, step by step

  1. Open daw.veena.studio and sign in with Google. A new project opens in the browser.
  2. Bring in the audio. Press Upload or drag the file onto the timeline. WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC, AIFF and other formats import.
  3. Find the key you start in. Select the clip, open Waveform and press Find Key.
  4. Shift it. In the Waveform tab, turn Pitch Shift up or down by semitones. Press play and listen against anything else in the project.
  5. Shift only one part. Right-click the clip and choose Separate into Stems to get vocals, drums, bass and other on their own tracks, then pitch-shift the stems that carry the notes and leave the drums.
  6. Export. A 24-bit/48 kHz WAV or a 320 kbps MP3 of the mix, or every track on its own, with no watermark.

Change the key of the whole song

A recording moves with Pitch Shift. A song you are writing moves with Change Key: pick the new key in the transport bar and ask CoProducer to carry the chords, bass and melody with it, in one sentence, such as "move this song from A minor to F minor". The harmony keeps its shape because every part moves together. Add a lift for the last chorus by asking for it up 2 semitones. The guide to changing the key of a song walks through each case, and the key and BPM finder reads the key and tempo of any track first.

Then the producer walks in

A shifted song is a starting point. Split it into stems with the free stem splitter, keep the vocal in your new key and ask CoProducer to write a fresh bass, drums or chords underneath. Every part it writes is a real track you can edit, with three takes of each new part to choose from.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free pitch shifter online?

Yes. Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser. Pitch Shift is on every plan, and it uses none of your daily CoProducer allowance.

How do I shift the pitch of a song online?

Open daw.veena.studio, sign in with Google and drag your song onto the timeline. Select the clip, open its Waveform tab and turn Pitch Shift up or down in semitones. Press play to hear the new pitch against anything else in the project, then export the result as WAV or MP3.

Will Veena's pitch shifter change the speed too?

No, tempo is its own control. In Veena, drag a clip's right edge to time-stretch it while the pitch stays put, or use Match to BPM in the Waveform tab to fit a recording to the project tempo. Pitch Shift moves the pitch and the speed controls move the speed, so you can set each one alone.

How do I lower the key of a song for my voice?

Drop the song into Veena, select the clip and turn Pitch Shift down a few semitones until it sits in your range. Use Find Key first to read the key you start in. For the cleanest result on a full song, split it into stems and shift only the pitched ones, leaving the drums alone.

Can I pitch shift just the vocals or just the bass?

Yes. Right-click the clip and choose Separate into Stems; Veena places vocals, drums, bass and other on their own tracks, free. Select the stem you want, open Waveform and use Pitch Shift on that clip alone. The other stems stay where they are, so you can mix the shifted part back in.

Can Veena change the key of a whole project, not just a recording?

Yes. Open Change Key in Veena's transport bar and choose from 24 keys, major or minor, then ask CoProducer to transpose your MIDI parts. The chords, bass and melody move together, so the harmony keeps its shape. One Ctrl+Z undoes the whole change if you prefer the original.

Can I download the pitch-shifted song?

Yes. Veena exports the full mix or every track on its own, as 24-bit/48 kHz WAV or 320 kbps MP3, with no cap and no watermark on the free plan. You own the Output you generate on every plan, so the song in its new key is a file you keep.
