What your laptop needs

An older Windows laptop. No installer, no admin password, no gigabytes of sound library on a small drive. If playback crackles, raise the buffer size in Veena's audio settings: it runs from 128 to 2048 samples, and 512 is the recommended middle.
A MacBook. Everything above, plus your own plug-ins: install the Veena Bridge helper app once and your Audio Unit and VST3 instruments and effects load inside Veena. The Bridge works on Windows too, with VST3.
A Linux laptop. Open Chrome or Firefox and sign in. Your projects follow you to any other laptop you sign in on.

- Open Veena and sign in with Google. A new project opens with six empty tracks.
- Paste a brief into CoProducer. Try the melodic house prompt at the bottom of this page, or write your own with a genre, a BPM, a key, the instruments and the sections. Only 9.4% of first requests in Veena give a BPM, and a number is the fastest way to get the groove you hear in your head.
- Pick your parts. CoProducer offers three options for each new part. Browse with the arrow keys, hover to preview, press Enter to add.
