Make music for video in Veena

Updated October 2026By Veena Studio

Make music for video in Veena by importing your video, writing and arranging a soundtrack with CoProducer, and exporting the project with its music.

Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser.

Make music for video in Veena, step by step

  1. Import the video. Use Upload in the transport or drag your file onto the arrangement. Veena reads MP4, M4V, MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI.
  2. Inspect the clip on the timeline. The video occupies its own clip in the arrangement. Place the soundtrack on other tracks so its musical parts stay separate.
  3. Separate the source sound if you want to work on it. Right-click the video clip and choose Separate Audio. The extracted recording can be edited like other audio.
  4. Brief CoProducer for the music. Say the length, mood, instruments and where the important moments fall. For example: "write warm piano and light drums, with a lift for the reveal at bar 9."
  5. Arrange the transitions. Move the musical clips, split an ending or add a section so the soundtrack reaches the right moment. Use the ruler’s loop while refining one transition.
  6. Mix dialogue and music in context. Set track levels and effects. Ask CoProducer to keep the music behind your spoken recording when the voice is the lead.
  7. Open Export and choose MP4. The video format is available when the project contains video. The export uses your project’s arrangement and audio.

Keep the soundtrack editable

CoProducer writes ordinary parts on tracks. You can change a bassline without changing the piano, shorten a section without rebuilding every sound, or replace one drum fill before exporting again. The video and the audio remain in the project while you work.

Work from the music’s form

Name the moments in bars when the song is tempo-based. Mark sections for the opening, build and ending so you and CoProducer refer to the same part of the arrangement. A quiet opening and a larger chorus can support a visual transition with musical contrast rather than a sudden volume jump. Use your own video and recordings, and keep a saved project for later revisions.

Frequently asked questions

How do I score a video in Veena?

Import a video into Veena, keep its picture beside the arrangement and build the music as editable tracks with CoProducer. Describe the tempo, mood and musical changes that should follow the scene. Work with the video’s audio when needed, then use MP4 export to take the picture and finished music together.

Can I extract a video’s audio in Veena?

Yes. Import your own video into Veena, right-click its clip and choose Separate Audio. The resulting recording can be moved, split, mixed and processed with the other audio in your project. Keep the soundtrack on separate tracks so CoProducer can change the musical parts while you retain control of the source recording.

Can Veena export a video with its soundtrack?

Veena offers MP4 export when a project contains video. Arrange and mix the soundtrack on real tracks, then open Export and choose the video format. CoProducer can build and revise those musical parts inside the project, and you can save the session to make another edit before exporting again.
