Master a song in Veena

Mastering in Veena measures the finished mix and adds editable Match EQ and Limiter cards to the master bus, so Play and Export use the same master.

Mastering in Veena, step by step

1. Finish the balance. Hear the verse and chorus with the other tracks playing. Use the console and track effects, or AutoMix, to make the musical parts sit together.
2. Pause playback. Master project needs the transport stopped before it measures the mix.
3. Open Mix & Master in the rail. Choose the Master stage. Its Genre choice starts from the project genre; choose the genre you want this master to target.
4. Press Master project. The flow minimizes into the progress bubble. Veena measures the mix, installs Match EQ then Limiter at the end of the master FX chain, and shows Done with mastering.
5. Inspect Master FX. The Match EQ card offers a genre and Amount. The Limiter offers Drive, Ceiling, Release, Knee and Output, with a transfer-curve display.
6. Compare with FX Chain. Its switch bypasses the whole master chain for both playback and export. Turn it on again when you want the mastered result.
7. Export the song. Open Export, choose WAV or MP3, choose Full mix, and press the format’s export button. Set Normalize audio for export deliberately if you want normalization after the mix render.

Refine the cards you hear

Match EQ shapes the mix toward the selected genre’s tonal curve. Amount controls how strongly that correction is applied. The Limiter shapes the final dynamics and output. Its Smooth, Balanced and Punchy presets set Ceiling and Release, while Knee and Output remain visible decisions you can adjust.

Press Master project again to update the existing mastering pair in place. A different genre is another setting for the same master bus, so you compare in the project instead of placing several rendered masters on tracks.

Ask CoProducer for a mastering change

"Master this song for a warm pop sound" reaches the same workflow. "Make it a bit louder" can adjust the limiter card rather than create another audio file. Closing the flow only closes its presentation: the mastering cards stay with the project and are used when you play or export it.

A clean master chain has no hidden export limiter. The processing you enable on the bus is the processing to inspect before sharing the finished track.

Compare the loudest and quietest sections

1. Loop the final chorus and listen to the vocal, bass and drum attack together.
2. Compare with FX Chain switched off and on. Match the listening level by ear before judging the tonal change.
3. Hear the intro or the quiet verse too. The master should preserve the song’s dynamics while making its overall balance consistent.
4. If the vocal is buried or the bass dominates before mastering, return to the track mix and fix that part first.

Export the master you approved

Exports have no watermark or export cap on any plan. Keep an unprocessed WAV by switching the master chain off for one render, then turn it back on for the processed version. This gives you two files to compare without replacing the editable arrangement.

Mastering tips

• Leave space in the track mix before the master effects. A clipped source needs its own level corrected first.
• Listen on headphones and speakers you know, and compare the vocal at a comfortable playback volume.
• Run Master project again after a major arrangement change; the existing master cards update in place.
• Name the project clearly before exporting so the approved mix and its stems are easy to identify.
