Audiotool's product page points AI at its open API instead: "Build apps, plugins, and AI tools that join live multiplayer sessions" and "Connect AI mastering, stem separation, or sample libraries straight into live multiplayer sessions." Stems and mastering arrive when a third party builds them.
• Chrome first, Safari out. "Google Chrome and its derivatives make up a market share of over 80%, so this is the browser we focus on." On Firefox, "we don't perform automated testing". And "Safari and other niche browsers are currently out of scope. Bug reports might not be considered."
• A helper app for VST3. Its VST Bridge is a desktop helper that brings in "third-party VST3 instruments and effects".
• Your published tracks are open. Publish a track and it joins a community "built around remixing and forking each other's tracks", where visitors are invited to "open up any track to see exactly how it was made".

• Stems from any audio. Right-click a clip and choose Separate into Stems for vocals, drums, bass and other, lined up on new tracks. No third-party app to wait for.

4. openDAW

Free and open source, and every note is still yours. openDAW describes itself as a web DAW with "no required login and no vendor lock-in", "open-source under AGPL-3 and designed with education at its core". Its news page, updated 14 September 2026, lists new instruments, a modulation system and a scripting API, and no AI producer; its site set an official launch for September and a public release event in Cologne on 3 October.

5. Amped Studio

Chromium only, MP3 only on free. Amped Studio's free Starter plan lists "5 projects", "16 tracks", "No projects export" and "Export only in MP3 format". Its AI assistant sits on the $12.99-a-month Premium + AI plan, and Amped says its results "are audio stems from a sound library database".
