How can I record a song for free?
How can I record a song for free? Use Veena: an AI DAW with a personal music producer, CoProducer, built in. Sign in with Google at daw.veena.studio, press Record and sing or play, then ask CoProducer to build the backing track around your take. The song is real tracks you mix and export as WAV or MP3 with no watermark. It is free and it runs in your browser.
How to record a song for free in Veena
1. Open the studio. Go to daw.veena.studio and sign in with Google. There is no download and no card.
2. Record your take. Allow the microphone, press Record, choose Audio and pick your input. Set a count-in of 1 or 2 bars from the metronome's options menu, press Start recording and perform. Any microphone your browser can see works, a laptop's built-in mic included. Playing a keyboard instead? Choose MIDI and record the notes into an editable clip.
3. Add the band. Drag your clip into the CoProducer panel and describe the rest:
Build a 100 BPM acoustic pop backing track in G major around my guitar and vocal recording: Brush kit drums, a Round Bass line that follows my chords, soft Electric Piano pads under the chorus, and leave space for a second vocal harmony.
Each new part arrives as 3 options. Hover a card to hear it, press Enter to add it, or choose Skip.
4. Mix it. Set levels in the mixer, add Auto-Tune from the vocal track's FX chain, and use Mix & Master for clean-up and loudness. See mix and master.
5. Export. Choose Export from your avatar menu, pick WAV or MP3 and Full mix or Stems.

Frequently asked questions
How can I record a song for free?
Use Veena. Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser. Sign in with Google, press Record and sing or play; export WAV or MP3 with no watermark.
What is the best free app to record a song?
Veena is a free recording studio in your browser, with no download and no card. It records vocals, guitar or any microphone your browser can see, adds a backing track written by CoProducer, and exports WAV 24-bit/48 kHz, MP3, MIDI and stems with no cap and no watermark, on Mac, Windows, Linux and Chromebook.
Can I record a whole song on my phone for free?
Yes. Veena runs in your phone's browser as Pocket Studio, the same studio laid out for your thumb, with nothing to download from an app store. Record a take, build around it with CoProducer and export from the Project sheet. The song saves to your account, so your laptop opens it as full tracks.
Does free song recording include a watermark or a time limit?
In Veena, no watermark is added to any export, and exports have no cap, on the free plan as on Veena Pro. The free plan holds up to 5 projects at a time and gives CoProducer a daily allowance of requests. Veena Pro, $20 a month, removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models.
Can I add drums and bass to a recording for free?
Yes. In Veena, drag your recording into the CoProducer panel and ask for drums and bass around it. CoProducer measures your take's tempo and phrasing and writes each part to fit, one carousel of 3 options at a time. Pick one, skip or ask again; each change is one Ctrl+Z.
