What is stem separation?
Stem separation is the process of splitting a finished, mixed song into its separate parts — usually vocals, drums, bass and everything else — using AI trained to recognise each sound. Veena does it free, in your browser, in a minute or two, and puts the stems straight onto a timeline: that's what makes a flat bounce editable again.
How the AI pulls a mix apart
A mixed song is one stereo waveform with every instrument summed together. A separation model reads it as a spectrogram, energy across frequencies over time. Having learned from multitrack recordings what a voice, a kick drum or a bass line looks like there, it estimates which parts of the sound belong to which source and rebuilds one waveform per source.
