Suno instrumental download explained: the Instrumental toggle, Split from Mix on paid plans, what counts as a download, and a free way to export one.
A Suno instrumental download comes one of two ways: generate the song with Suno's Instrumental toggle, or split the vocal off an existing song with Split from Mix, which needs Pro or Premier (Suno's help centre, September 2026), and either way it spends a capped download. How to get an instrumental on Suno
For a new song. In Suno's create form, switch on Instrumental ("Toggle Instrumental if you prefer not using lyrics", in Suno's own create guide) and generate. Suno's v6 FAQ says "Each time you generate, you make two songs with a total cost of 10 credits". Keep the take you like and download it, which spends one download.
For a song that already has vocals (Pro and Premier only):
- Open the song's More Actions (...) menu and choose Get Stems.
- Pick Split from Mix and choose the vocal. Suno extracts it and hands you "the complement to your split, containing everything except the extracted stem", which is your instrumental.
- It costs "10 credits per extraction (20 credits total for both stems created)".
- Download the song. Suno counts one song as one download, and "downloading stems is included with that song's download and does not count separately."
On the free plan, step 1 isn't there. And whatever the plan, take the file only through Suno's own Download button: its terms say "recording or stream ripping are prohibited".
In Veena, the instrumental is the mix without your vocal
In Veena there's nothing to separate, because the parts were never mixed together.
- Build the song as tracks. Describe it to CoProducer, like the trap prompt at the end of this page. It writes drums, bass, melody and pads as separate tracks, with 3 options for each new part. In Veena's own data, first requests for trap get a finished first result on day one 83.6% of the time.
- Record your vocal on its own track. Arm a track, set a one- or two-bar count-in and sing; loop recording keeps your last complete pass.
- Mute the vocal. One click on the track's mute button, or press M on the clip.
- Export. Open the account menu in the sidebar and choose Export. Veena shows the file count, names, quality and size before anything is written, then gives you the full mix as a WAV 24-bit/48 kHz or an MP3 320 kbps. Muted tracks stay out, so that mix is your instrumental.
Want every version? Export three times: the full mix, the instrumental with the vocal muted, and the a cappella with everything but the vocal muted. Or choose stems once and every audible track arrives as its own file in a zip. None of it counts against anything, and there's no watermark on any of it.
Got a finished mix instead? Isolate the vocals
For a mixed recording you own, including a song you downloaded before leaving Suno, drag it onto Veena's timeline and ask CoProducer to "isolate the vocals". Two tracks appear, one named vocals and one named instrumental, lined up with the original. Mute the vocals and export. Prefer four stems (vocals, drums, bass and other)? Before you use it: rights by plan
An instrumental carries the same rights as the song it came from. Suno keeps ownership of songs made on its free plan, which are for "lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes"; songs downloaded while subscribed to Pro or Premier carry commercial use, and the terms say "You may not commercially exploit Output that has not been downloaded by you through an approved channel". In Veena, what CoProducer builds with you is yours on every plan: its terms say "you own the Output you generate through your use of the Service."
