What Google Flow Music gives you

Google describes it as "a generative AI platform for creating, remixing, and sharing studio-quality songs", and its blog says it "works as a creative collaborator, helping with lyrics, toying with new melodies or genres and even creating new instruments." In practice:

• Prompts in, songs out. You open a session and describe the music, adding a microphone recording, an audio file or an image as reference. Google's own example: "Make a high-energy synth-pop track with female vocals about a rainy night in Tokyo."
• Edits by sentence. Structure ("Shorten the intro to 4 bars"), mix ("Make the kick drum punchier") and style ("Change the instruments to an acoustic folk vibe") are all typed into the prompt box.
• Remix tools. Extend, Cover or Replace a selected section, then generate.
• Downloads. MP3, WAV and M4A, plus stem downloads, on every plan listed on its pricing page.
• Plans. Free with daily top-up credits; Starter $8, Plus $24 and Member $64 a month, or $6, $18 and $48 billed yearly. Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra members get the matching Flow plan.

What Google Flow Music doesn't give you

• Notes you can touch. MIDI is not among the features on its plans page. Changing a bar means describing the change and waiting for a new generation, not moving a note.
• A mix you set by hand. Google's own editing guide adjusts the mix with sentences like "Add more reverb to the vocals". There are no faders in its instructions, only requests.
• A private song by default once published. Publish a song and, in Google's words, "To disable remix, vibes, and downloads by others, turn off Allow community remix."
• Credits on your terms. Extra credits are "Only available on paid plans while your subscription is active."
