Free Online Sampler
A free online sampler turns any sound into something you can play. Veena has one built in: the MPC sampler, 16 pads in your browser, free, with nothing to install. Load your own recordings onto the pads, tune each pad, and CoProducer, Veena's personal music producer, writes the groove around them as real tracks you can edit and export.
A sampler plug-in needs a DAW installed to host it, and a sample pack site ends at a folder of downloads. In Veena the sampler sits inside the whole studio: record or import the sound, chop it, play it, build the beat and export the song in one tab.
Who the free online sampler is for
- Beatmakers who build a groove from chopped sounds: a guitar phrase, a vocal syllable, a kitchen-table drum hit.
- Singer-songwriters who want a voice-memo idea turned into a rhythmic part they can play.
- Producers on a Chromebook, a work laptop or a phone, where installing a sampler plug-in and a DAW is not an option.
- Anyone starting from a sound, not a blank screen: a favourite loop, a field recording, a bounce from an old project.
How to use the online sampler, step by step
- Open daw.veena.studio and sign in with Google. A new project opens in the browser.
- Bring in your sound. Press Upload or drag a recording onto the timeline. WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC, AIFF and other formats import. To sample one phrase, trim or split the clip to that region first.
- Create a MIDI clip and choose MPC. Open the Instrument tab, press the instrument card and pick MPC. Each of the 16 pads gets its own note.
- Load a pad. Drag the recording, or a clip's region, onto a pad. Make several pads from one take by loading a different region on each.
- Tap the pad to hear it. Set the pad's pitch, gain and pan until it sits right. Remove custom sample clears a pad when you want another sound there.
- Play a pattern. Place hits in the clip's editor or record the pad part. It plays with the rest of your tracks and exports with them.
- Ask CoProducer for the groove. "Chop my guitar take onto sampler pads and make an 8-bar groove" lets it choose the regions, load the pads and write the part.
What the sampler gives you
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| 16 pads | One sound per pad, each with its own note for the MIDI part |
| Your own audio | Recordings, one-shots and loops; a pad can use a region of a longer take |
| Pitch, gain and pan per pad | Tune and balance every sound before you build the pattern |
| MIDI triggering | The pad part is a clip you can move, shorten and re-time in the piano roll |
| Same sound everywhere | A pad plays the same region when you tap it, on the timeline and on export |
A pad hit rings from the sample rather than behaving like a held synthesizer note, so short sounds stay short and the groove stays tight.
One recording, several pieces
A short consonant, a guitar attack and a held tone from the same take can become three rhythmic voices. Chop the take across pads, give each pad a name you will recognise, and the sampler turns a single recording into a kit. Your original take stays on its own track, so you can come back to it any time.
Find sounds, then play them
No recording to hand? Ask CoProducer for the sound in your own words, such as "a dusty vinyl drum break around 90 BPM". It searches 27,356 curated samples plus a licensed professional catalogue and shows 10 previews. The free sample finder works the same way on its own, and the sample search guide covers every control. Drop the sound you pick on a pad and play it.
Then the producer walks in
A row of pads is the start of a beat. Tell CoProducer what to build and it writes drums, bass and chords around your pad part, as separate tracks, with three takes of every new part to choose from. Redraw the hats in the free beat maker, swap the bass, or ask for a new rhythm while keeping the pad sounds. Every part is editable, and the whole song exports with no watermark.

Try this in Veena
Chop my guitar recording onto the sampler pads, then write an 8-bar boom bap groove at 90 BPM in A minor: kick and snare on the Pop kit, a swung hi-hat, a round bass line, and the chopped guitar triggered on pads 1, 5 and 9, with the original take kept on its own track.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free online sampler?
Yes. Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser. Its MPC sampler has 16 pads for your own sounds, free on every plan, with nothing to install.
How do I sample a sound online for free?
Open daw.veena.studio, sign in with Google and drag your recording onto the timeline. Add a MIDI clip, choose the MPC instrument, then drag the recording, or a trimmed region of it, onto a pad. Tap the pad to hear it, set its pitch, gain and pan, and play the pads into a pattern.
Can I chop one recording onto several pads?
Yes. A pad can load a region of a longer recording, so one take becomes several sounds: a short attack on one pad, a held tone on another, a syllable on a third. Name each pad so you can find it later, or ask CoProducer to choose the regions and load the pads for you.
Can I play the sampler from my keyboard?
Yes. Veena's MPC sampler gives every pad its own note, so a keyboard plays the pads and you can record the part as MIDI. The pattern lands on the timeline in the piano roll, where you can move, shorten or re-time every hit, and CoProducer can rewrite the rhythm while the pad sounds stay.
Where do I get sounds to put in the sampler?
Use your own: voice memos, rehearsal takes, guitar and keys recordings, old bounces, or files in WAV, MP3, FLAC and AIFF. Or ask CoProducer to search 27,356 curated samples plus a licensed professional catalogue, which brings 10 previews to audition in your song before you place one.
Can I export what I make with the sampler?
Yes. Veena exports the full mix or every track on its own, as 24-bit/48 kHz WAV or 320 kbps MP3, with no cap and no watermark on the free plan. Sampler parts also export as MIDI. You own the Output you generate on every plan.
Does the sampler work on a Chromebook or a phone?
Yes. Veena runs in your browser on Mac, Windows, Linux and Chromebook laptops, and on your phone as Pocket Studio, the phone view of the same project. There is no plug-in to install and no graphics card to buy, so the sampler is one sign-in away on any of them.
