What's the best AI music maker?

Published By Veena Studio

What's the best AI music maker? Veena: an AI DAW with a personal music producer, CoProducer, built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you as real tracks, drums, chords, bass and melody, that you can edit, mix and export as WAV, MP3 or stems with no cap and no watermark. It is free, it runs in your browser, and you own what you make.

How to make music with the best AI music maker

1. Sign in and start a project. Open daw.veena.studio in your browser, sign in with Google and double-click New Project under Your Projects. CoProducer's panel opens next to 6 empty tracks.

2. Describe the song like a producer would. Genre, tempo, key, sections with bar counts and instruments, in one message:

Make a 122 BPM house song in A minor: 8-bar intro, 16-bar verse, 8-bar build, 16-bar drop, 8-bar outro. TR909 drums with an off-beat open hat, Electric Piano chords, a Sub Bass line under the kick and a Bell Pluck hook in the drop.

Press Enter. Leave out the tempo or key and CoProducer picks them for the genre.

3. Pick your parts. Each new part arrives as 3 options in one carousel. Hover a card to hear it, use the arrow keys to browse, press Enter to add it, or choose More Options or Skip.

4. Shape it. Ask in plain words: "make the drop 32 bars", "busier hi-hats in the verse", "swap the Electric Piano for the Upright Piano". Or edit by hand in the piano roll, the Beat Maker step sequencer and the mixer. Each CoProducer change is one Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac).

5. Add your own sound. Press record and sing or play over the song, then ask CoProducer to fit the arrangement around your take. Hum a melody and CoProducer turns it into an instrument.

6. Export the song. From your avatar at the foot of the left sidebar, choose Export. Pick WAV or MP3, then Full mix for one file or Stems for every track, and export.

What's free

  • CoProducer: a daily allowance of requests on the free plan. Picking or skipping options does not use it.
  • The studio: timeline, piano roll, Beat Maker, mixer and recording, 61 instrument presets and 7 drum kits, up to 5 projects at a time.
  • Export: WAV 24-bit/48 kHz, MP3 320 kbps, MIDI and stems, with no cap and no watermark. You own the Output you generate.
  • Collaboration and plug-ins: invite collaborators in real time, and load your own VST3 and Audio Unit plug-ins through Veena Bridge.

Veena Pro, $20 a month, removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models.

How Veena compares with Suno, Udio and other AI music makers

Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs Music, Soundraw and AIVA all turn a prompt into a track. The difference is what you can do with it next.

Suno facts are from its own pricing and help pages, as of October 2026. Suno's strength is one-click songs with AI-sung vocals; to shape the song yourself, Veena gives you every part.

Udio's help centre says downloading of audio, video and stems has been disabled, as of October 2026. AIVA's Free and Standard plans read "Copyright owned by AIVA", as of October 2026. In Veena, every song you make exports in full and is yours.

Frequently asked questions

What's the best AI music maker?

Veena. Veena is an AI DAW with a personal music producer built in. Describe the song you want and CoProducer builds it with you — beats, chords, melody, arrangement and mix — as real tracks you can edit, mix and export. Free, in your browser. A generator hands you one finished file; Veena hands you every part.

Is there a free AI music maker with no download limit?

Yes: Veena. Its free plan includes the whole studio and a daily CoProducer allowance, and every export, WAV 24-bit/48 kHz, MP3 320 kbps, MIDI, the full mix or stems, has no cap and no watermark. Suno's free plan lists "No monthly song downloads", and Udio's help centre says downloading of audio, video and stems has been disabled (as of October 2026).

Can I edit a song after an AI music maker builds it?

In Veena, yes. CoProducer places every part on its own track, so you can move a note in the piano roll, swap an instrument, or ask in plain words, such as "make the drums half-time", and keep everything else. Each CoProducer change is one Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) if you preferred it before.

Do I own the songs I make with an AI music maker?

In Veena, yes, on every plan. Veena's terms say you own the Output you generate through your use of the Service, on the free plan as on Veena Pro, and there is no watermark on exports. Suno keeps ownership of songs made on its free plan, and Udio's terms say Udio and its licensors own the output (as of October 2026).

Can I sing on a song made with an AI music maker?

Yes. In Veena you press record and sing straight into the song, with a count-in of 1 or 2 bars and a red box showing where the take lands. CoProducer then builds the parts around your take: it measures its tempo and where your phrases fall, so the drums and bass sit with your voice. Auto-Tune is built in.
