Best Mureka Alternative: WAV, MIDI and Every Track, Free

The best Mureka alternative is Veena, an AI DAW with a personal music producer: the WAV files, MIDI and separate tracks Mureka reserves for its $30 Premier plan are free in Veena, because CoProducer builds your song as real tracks you keep producing. There's no export cap, no watermark, and on every plan the song is yours.

Mureka is one of the places people leaving Suno name most, drawn by "unlimited downloads". Read its own plans page and terms, and the unlimited has conditions.

The fine print behind Mureka's "unlimited downloads"

Everything here is from Mureka's plans page and its terms of service (released 13 May 2026), read on 23 September 2026.

Unlimited means MP3 until you pay $30. Mureka's paid plans say "There are no download limits". Pro, $10 a month or $96 a year, gets "Unlimited MP3 downloads". WAV, stems, MIDI and the DAW session file are Premier Exclusive, "Unlimited downloads: WAV, Stems, MIDI & DAW session", at $30 a month or $288 a year. Mureka's own FAQ puts it plainly: "With exclusive access to Mureka Studio and MIDI/WAV exports, Premier offers the definitive control".

On the free plan, the song is Mureka's. "If you are a user of the free tier of the service, mureka owns all rights, title and interest in and to the Output made by you through the service", licensed back "solely for your lawful, internal, and non-commercial purposes, provided that you give attribution credit to mureka in each case." Free also means "4 songs, daily", an older free model (v7.5-all) and "2 in a Shared queue".

Every plan hands Mureka a licence to your songs. The next sentence of the terms has no tier in it: "you grant mureka an unrestricted, assignable, sublicensable, irrevocable, royalty-free license throughout the universe" to use "all or any part of all your Output through the service", for purposes that include "commercial use". You also grant "a royalty-free license to use your username, image, voice and likeness".

Rights are worded as a subscription perk. The plans FAQ promises that "During your active subscription, all new songs created as well as past creations created before subscribing come with full commercial rights." None of its FAQ entries covers what happens to those rights after you cancel.

Refunds are someone else's problem. Cancel "at least 24 hours prior to the expiration of the current period", and for refunds "you must contact Apple, Google or Stripe directly", because "Mureka will have no liability to you whatsoever for any refunds in connection with subscriptions, except when required by the applicable law." Unused Gold goes with your account: "you will not receive money or other compensation for unused Credits when an Account is closed".

Why Veena is the best Mureka alternative

Veena starts where Mureka's Premier tier stops, and charges nothing to get there.

• You own it, full stop. Veena's terms: "you own the Output you generate through your use of the Service." No attribution line required, no watermark on your exports.
• Your own audio, your own gear. Drop in a voice memo or demo and CoProducer builds around it; split any recording you own into four stems (vocals, drums, bass, other) with the free stem splitter; load your plugins (VST3, plus AU on Mac) through the Veena Bridge helper app on Mac and Windows.

Veena is free to start with a daily CoProducer allowance. Veena Pro, $20 a month, removes the daily request cap and unlocks the premium models; exports are the same on both.

Mureka Co needs Ableton. CoProducer needs a browser tab

Mureka's answer to "an AI inside my DAW" is Mureka Co, a desktop download pitched as "a co-worker in your Ableton". Its page says it "Currently supports Ableton Live", generates a song "complete — then imports every stem into Ableton", and Mureka's FAQ warns that "any response or output it generates, including music parts, arrangements, text replies, and DAW-related tasks, may consume Gold." Its DAW control, "Talk to control your DAW and local files for full music production", is listed as Premier Exclusive.

So the full Mureka Co setup is a $30-a-month plan, a Mac or Windows install, and a copy of Ableton Live, which runs from $99 for Intro's 16 tracks to $749 for Suite (Ableton's shop, September 2026).

CoProducer is built into the studio it works in. It reads your project, writes parts that fit what's already placed, sets levels and effects, and says what it delivered and what it skipped at the end of every run. It runs in Chrome and other modern browsers on Mac, Windows, Linux and Chromebook, with no graphics card, and a failed run is refunded.

Other Mureka alternatives, and the catch in each

Suno caps the files. Since 3 September 2026, Pro ($10 a month) downloads 20 songs a month and Premier ($30) 60, songs made before that date included, and Suno keeps ownership of free-plan songs (Suno's help centre, September 2026). Every cap is in Suno download limits explained.

Udio keeps the files. "Downloading of audio, video, and stems has been disabled" since 29 October 2025, on every plan (Udio's help centre, February 2026).

MusicGPT charges you to download on free. Its free plan's 500 credits cover about ten songs, "Download cost 50 credits" each, and its terms take "a royalty-free, non-exclusive, and perpetual license to use, showcase, and distribute generated music" for marketing and training (MusicGPT's pricing page and terms, September 2026). Leaving Mureka without losing your songs

1. Download while you're subscribed. Mureka's terms give paid users ownership of their output, and its plans page ties commercial rights to "your active subscription". Take the WAVs and stems you need before the plan ends.
2. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, in the App Store, Google Play or Stripe, whichever you paid through.
3. Open daw.veena.studio and sign in with Google. Nothing to install.
4. Start the next song. Describe it to CoProducer, like the country-pop prompt at the end of this page, or bring your own voice memos, demos and MIDI files (13 audio formats import, and .mid files open as editable tracks).
5. Export everything, every time. WAV, MP3 or MIDI, the mix or every track.
