Do Veena keyboard shortcuts work on a Mac?

How do I undo a CoProducer change in Veena?

Press Ctrl+Z, or Cmd+Z on a Mac. Each change CoProducer applies is one undo step, so one press takes back a part it added or an edit it made, and Ctrl+Shift+Z brings it back. In a shared Veena project, undo is per person: you undo your own changes, never a collaborator's.

Can I play notes from my computer keyboard in Veena?

Yes. With a MIDI clip's Instrument tab or piano roll open, Veena turns your keyboard into a piano: A to ' plays the white keys from middle C, W, E, T, Y, U, O, P and ] play the black keys, and Z and X shift the octave. Record with it, or plug in a MIDI keyboard instead.

Why do shortcuts stop working while I type to CoProducer?

Veena switches the studio shortcuts off while your cursor is in a text box, including the CoProducer chat, so typing "m" or "c" in a request never mutes or cuts a clip. Click the timeline to hand the keys back to the studio. In the chat, Enter sends your request and Esc stops a running one.

Play notes from your computer keyboard

With a MIDI clip's Instrument tab or piano roll open, your computer keyboard becomes a piano:

A S D F G H J K L ; ' play the white keys from middle C (C4) up to F5.
W E T Y U O P ] play the black keys: C#, D#, F#, G#, A#, then C#, D# and F# an octave up.
Z and X shift the whole keyboard down or up an octave, anywhere from octave 1 to octave 7.

The MPC sampler maps its 16 pads to four rows of keys: 1 2 3 4, Q W E R, A S D F and Z X C V. To record, click Create MIDI Clip, choose the instrument and sound, press record and play. A MIDI keyboard works the same way through your browser's Web MIDI support.

The CoProducer panel

The mixer

Select a fader and press ↑ or ↓ to move it by 0.1 dB, or double-click it to type an exact level. Levels run from +6 dB down to silence.

Shortcuts that do more than you expect

One undo, one decision. Because every CoProducer change is a single step, Ctrl+Z is the fastest way to A/B an idea: ask for "half-time drums in the bridge", listen, press Ctrl+Z, listen again, then Ctrl+Shift+Z if the new version wins.

Keys never leak into your requests. The studio's shortcuts pause while you type in the CoProducer chat or rename a project, so typing a request never cuts, mutes or deletes anything.
