What is an online DAW?

An online DAW is a digital audio workstation that runs in a web browser, so you record, edit, arrange, mix and export music without installing anything. What is an online DAW good for?

  • Nothing to install. Open a tab and the studio is there, on the laptop you already own, Chromebooks included.
  • Projects that follow you. Work saves to your account as you go, so the same song opens on any computer you sign in from.
  • Sessions you can share. One link brings a collaborator into the project, live.
  • No graphics card. The heavy AI work runs on servers, not on your machine.

Where the work happens

A browser DAW splits the load. Playback, instruments and effects run on your own computer through the browser's audio engine, so what you hear responds instantly. The heavy lifting runs on servers: in Veena, that's CoProducer's models, stem separation and re-voicing. That split is why an online DAW keeps up on a modest laptop.

Your first online session in Veena

Open Veena's free online DAW in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc or Firefox, sign in with Google and type "a 122 BPM deep house groove in F minor". CoProducer sets the tempo and key, sketches three options for each part and lays your picks on the timeline. Press Share in the transport bar to invite a friend with an email-locked or open link, and build the same song together in real time. When it's done, export the mix or every track as WAV, MP3 or MIDI, with no cap and no watermark.
