Playhead and MIDI timing in Veena: what changed

The playhead follows the heard audio position instead of the engine’s scheduling clock. A MIDI note played against that beat is recorded at the heard position. Playback resumes from its sounding position, keeping the song and playhead together.

Use the current workflow

  1. Play your Veena project and follow the playhead against the beat you hear.
  2. Record a MIDI part with your keyboard, then inspect its notes in the piano roll.
  3. Pause or let audio finish loading before continuing the same arrangement.

Capture the next performance with audio and MIDI recording, then shape its notes with MIDI editing.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the Veena playhead now follow what I hear?

Veena reads the heard audio position for the playhead instead of the clock used to schedule future playback. The marker therefore follows the sound reaching your output. Use it to place or record parts against the song, and listen to the arrangement while making the next musical decision.

Does this change MIDI recording in Veena?

Yes. Veena records a MIDI note against the heard playback position, so a note played to the audible beat uses that position in the piano roll. Choose your MIDI input, record the part and inspect the resulting timing. Quantize or edit only the notes you want to change.

How does Veena keep playback and the playhead together?

Veena follows the heard audio position for playback, its playhead and MIDI recording. Resume the song from its sounding position, then place the next notes against the audible beat. The same arrangement remains editable throughout the session, with output and buffer controls in Audio Settings.
